| Revised World Atlas of Mangroves for Conservation and Restoration of Mangrove Ecosystems | |
| ITTO/ISME, in collaboration with FAO, UNEP-WCMC, UNESCO, UNU-INWEH, will
publish a New World Mangrove Atlas which will be a revised and updated
version of the earlier ITTO/ISME publication "World Mangrove Atlas,"
the only available world mangrove atlas at present. The New World Mangrove Atlas will give GIS-based distribution maps and describe recent status of mangrove forests around the world, with detailed estimates of changes in mangrove forests worldwide and at regional and national levels. |

| The New World Mangrove Atlas aims to contribute towards effective management
of mangrove forest for sustainable production of timber, fisheries, and
other products without compromising their environmental, ecological and
socio-economic value. The Project is funded by ITTO. Project Coordinator is Dr. Mami Kainuma. |
