Ryukyu Halcyon coromanda bangsi

A migratory bird in the same family of kingfishers. Seen in the mangroves or lowland forests from spring to summer. About 20cm in length. Characteristics of this bird are its beautiful red body color and big bill. Males in the mating season chirp as if tinkling a bell that sounds like "kyorororoooo".
Lays 5-6 eggs, which are then brooded by male and female alternately. Feeds on insects, frogs, lizards, fishes and so forth.
Ryukyu halcyon coromanda with good sight could be a hasty fellow because it often clashes with glass window reflecting landscapes around.
